Rooms were clean, place smelled good. No breakfast though. Gave it a five start because the staff and owner was easy to deal with compared to the main line places.
I see people complaining about a room that's is normally right around 70.00 a night. Im staying here for a week and a half... the staff was extremely helpful, and this place is all breeds of dogs aloud. For only 10.00 more. It is clean, plenty of green space to walk your pet. There is a sports bar next door, O'Briens. Great food, and good pricing. They have food specials everyday. If you're looking for a nicely priced room, allowing pets, and a great location, this place is for you. If your looking for a 5 star hotel, then get your wallet out and spend the money somewhere else. If you want a room with a comfortable bed, and a place to stay it's right here with the Surry Inn. I came in late last night, and Shannon helped me at the front desk. She was extremely friendly, and took care of extending my stay. I've been here now for 3 weeks, waiting to move into my place. The owners help out a lot with people who are displaced, and they work with local charities in Ashland to help provide a roof over their head...
At first I was hesitant, especially with the price. The outside does not do this place justice. The lobby looks quaint and inviting. And the rooms look newly updated. Staff is super nice and helpful. Check in was easy and super fast. Would totally stay here again
Drove to OH for a festival (came from Jersey) & stayed here. Would definitely book again. April helped us when we got there & was super nice! Only con is no breakfast lol But not a deal breaker
What a nice little place. Nothing fancy but very clean. The staff is very helpful and the Inn is pet friendly. The owners are a little hard to understand but friendly. The staff went out of their way to get my room ready early yesterday when I showed up tired with 2 doggies. We have stayed a few times now and would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a reasonable price and a quiet comfortable room.
+ The Room was clean and cool upon arrival. + Had a great mini fridge. + A decent breakfast was included. + The folks running it are nice. - Clear water damage on cieling - There is a large dent in the wall. - Some discoloration in the bathroom. - The water was quite hot in the shower, even on cold setting. Overall, for around $59, not a bad place to stay. It will get you through the night peacefully.
Quaint, nice and very clean.place. Indian owners are super nice. Next door to a fantastic restaurant. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Nice, quiet and cozy. Only thing needs to be replaced/upgraded are the TVs. Price vs quality one of the very best I've ever been, and believe me I've been to dozens of countries, Europe included. 4.5 to 5 stars, especially if you're not into spending hundreds if not thousands every night.
The Surrey Inn is once again THE premier hotel in Ashland, Ohio! I used to stay at the Surrey Inn during it's hey day in the 80's. The new owners have brought this beautiful, historic, boutique hotel back to life! I see it has not yet regained it's rating as a 4 star hotel, however it is most definitely a 4 star! Upon arriving in the beautiful lobby one is greeted and made to feel at home by either the owner himself or one of his family members. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, yet comfortable. The bed provided me with the best sleep I've had in months! This is the closest hotel to Main Street Downtown Ashland and Freer Field!
